Tim Campos is the CIO and VP of IT at Facebook where he and his teams engineer novel solutions to Big Data’s challenges. In addition to his role at Facebook, Tim also serves on the board of directors for the Berkeley Haas School of Business and Viavi (NASDAQ: VIAV), formerly JDS Uniphase Corporation (NASDAQ: JDSU).
With over 20 years of industry experience in both Software Engineering and Information Technology, Tim has a unique understanding of the challenges in both developing and applying Information Technology.
Prior to Facebook, Tim served as the CIO and VP of Information Technology at KLA-Tencor where he led a transformation of their service business through the implementation of CRM technology. He was Director of Engineering at one of the first SaaS based companies Portera Systems where he led product development and helped to expand Portera’s customer base to Europe and Asia through technical innovations which enabled Portera to globally serve its SaaS based application.
Tim has MBAs from both Columbia University and the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, and he holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, also from the University of California at Berkeley.
Tim believes in people, and when he isn’t working, he spends time bridging the technology divide by creating education and employment opportunities for underprivileged youth. In this regard, he proudly serves on the Board of YearUp Bay Area. Finally, Tim believes in love, and has found it in his wife and high school sweetheart Shannon, and their two children.
